One-Off Seminar by Yamada Sensei on 3 Feb, 2008

We have the honour and privilege to have one of the most highly-respected martial arts teachers from Japan coming to North Shore City.

Yamada Sensei holds a 6th dan in both Judo and Aikido.  He is one of the few remaining teachers who have been an Uchi-deshi (live-in student) of O-Sensei Ueshiba.

Mr. Yamada began training in Judo at the age of 10 in his home town of Fukuoka.  He already held a 5th dan in Judo when he applied to Ueshiba Sensei to study Aikido.

He became an assistant to Professor Tomiki and was one of those involved in giving demonstrations of martial arts to General Douglas MacArthur which convinced the general of the physical, educational, spiritual and moral benefits that would be derived from the practice of these arts.
